RoboGuide

This page explains how RoboGuide uses AI and handles your data. Just curious about the robot?

You're talking to an AI

This robot listens, thinks, and replies using artificial intelligence. Here’s exactly what happens with your voice and your data.

Your voice

Never stored, streamed in real time only

The camera

Detects presence only, not faces

Conversations

Anonymized, kept 12 months, then deleted

What happens when you talk to the robot

  • Your voice (audio): streamed in real time to a speech-to-text service to convert it to text. The audio itself is not stored. Not on the robot, not by Dyno Robotics, and not by the speech-to-text provider.
  • The text of what you said: sent to a language model, which generates a reply.
  • The reply: converted back to speech and played to you. This step is real time only and nothing is retained.
  • A written record of the conversation: before it is stored, it is automatically screened and anonymized; names, email addresses, phone numbers, and personal ID numbers you may have mentioned are removed. The anonymized conversation is kept for statistics and quality improvement, then automatically deleted.

No permanent profile of you is created, and the robot does not link separate conversations back to the same person. It does not make any automated decision about you with a legal or similarly significant effect. Talking to the robot is optional. If you don’t speak to it, no conversation data is processed about you.

The robot also uses its cameras to notice when someone is nearby, so it can start a conversation. This is presence detection only. It does not identify or recognize faces, and it is not used to categorize people or detect emotions.

Why this processing happens

Processing your voice and conversation text is necessary to provide the interactive information/guidance service this robot offers; a legitimate interest of the organization operating it at this location. Where camera-based presence detection is used, the same legal basis applies; no images or video are ever stored.

Where your data is processed

For this robot, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, the language model that generates replies, conversation storage, and the anonymization step are all handled by providers operating within the EU/EEA. No personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA as part of this conversation flow.

The language-model provider retains the text sent to it for up to 30 days, within the EU/EEA, for platform safety and abuse-monitoring purposes, after which it is deleted. It is not used to train AI models.

How long data is kept

  • Audio: not stored.
  • Camera images/video: not stored.
  • Text sent to the language model: kept up to 30 days within the EU/EEA for safety monitoring, then deleted. Not used for training.
  • Anonymized conversation text: kept by Dyno Robotics up to 12 months on a rolling basis, then automatically deleted.

Speech-to-text, text-to-speech, the language model that generates replies, conversation storage, and the anonymization step are handled by service providers, which may be located in the United States. No conversation data is used to train third-party AI models.

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Dyno Robotics does not sell or share personal information collected through this robot.

Speech-to-text, text-to-speech, conversation storage, and the anonymization step are handled by providers operating within the EU/EEA. Generating the AI reply involves a language-model provider whose infrastructure cannot technically guarantee that processing always stays within the EU/EEA, even though the contracting entity is based in the EU. This transfer is covered by an EU Commission-approved data processing agreement and standard contractual clauses.

This provider retains the text sent to it for up to 30 days for platform safety and abuse-monitoring purposes, after which it is deleted. It is not used to train AI models.

Who is responsible for your data

The organization operating this robot at this location is responsible for deciding how the service is used here. Dyno Robotics AB provides the underlying AI/voice technology and processes data on that organization’s behalf under a data processing agreement. For questions about your specific visit, ask a staff member on site, or contact Dyno Robotics AB directly below and we’ll make sure it reaches the right place.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to ask what data has been processed about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to or restrict processing, and lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in Sweden: IMY, the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection). Because conversations are anonymized shortly after they happen, we may not always be able to identify which conversation was yours once anonymization has occurred. Contact us as soon as possible after your visit if you want data linked to your interaction removed.
